| | amused | ] | There is an interesting column by Nathan Gonzales that deals with one of the new liberal talking points: "If 50,000 votes had went to Kerry in Ohio instead of Bush, he would be the President." Here's an excerpt:
"But while 60,000 votes would have made the difference in favor of Kerry, just 45,000 votes the other way paints a completely different picture. If 5,000 voters had switched in New Hampshire, Bush would have carried the state. If 6,000 voters had switched in Wisconsin, Bush would have carried that state. And if 34,000 voters had switched in Oregon, Bush would have carried it also. So, in this backward hypothetical world, Bush wins reelection with a considerable 307 electoral votes."
Great column!

| Great quote! |
[Dec. 2nd, 2004|02:13 pm] |
Neal Boortz had this quote on his website the other day. I could never say it any better.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may be even a worse fate. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish then to live as slaves."
- Winston Churchill, 1939 |

Well, it's been a while since I have typed anything into this journal. Things have definitely changed. I no longer work for a security firm, but instead work for Wells Fargo as a security consultant, my wife and I are expecting are second child...my daughter, Jillian, who is almost 4 is very excited about it, President Bush was re-elected...thank God, Mel Martinez was elected...thank God, and things are looking good for the future.
That's it...for now. |

| Kerry's Views ( sort of) |

| | amused | ] | Kerry's For the Rich Paying More Taxes, Just Not Him!
Just like in the SUV incident, it is bad for the American public to do or have something, just not Mrs. Kerry.
According to Mrs. Heinz Kerry's tax release, she paid $587,000 to the IRS on a 2003 gross income of $5+ Million. Her camp claims that in October she will be filing another payment that will raise her total to $750,000. But even after that payment, Mrs. Heinz Kerry will only be paying 14.6% of her gross income.
Mr. Kerry paid $90.575 of his 2003 gross income of $395,338, which is 23%.
Together the Kerry's paid a meager 15.3% of their total gross income of $5,510,000.
Just for shits and giggles, lets look at what the Bush's paid. The Bush's paid $227,000 in federal taxes on a gross 2003 income of $822,126, that's 28%.
Now, I'm all for giving the IRS the least amount of money you can, but I'm also not the one that thinks we pay too little in taxes, Kerry does. A word comes to mind...it starts with an 'H'...I can't quite think of it...can anyone help me out here? |
